Painting the Wind

Painting the Wind

Does the wind call to you?

Do you feel freedom in the breeze that sings through the forest as it makes leaves dance and birch trees sway; 🌬️🌳

As it ripples the surface of lakes and ponds and makes little splashes on the shore 🌊

As it releases the fragrance of wildflowers in fields and herbs in the garden 🪴

As animals sniff the air for the scents it carries 🦌

The sound of nature lifting your spirits ☺️

Lately, much of my art has been inspired by those breezes. Ever since we had a big wind storm  in April, I’ve had lots of ideas come to me. There's something about wind that feels like pure wildness -- playful, unpredictable, alive.

I see it in the resilience of birch trees, in the freedom of birds soaring among the breeze, in the way it blows through the garden and scatters the seeds of plants to create new life.

Wind can symbolize many things.  I don’t know exactly why it has compelled me to paint it, but I think it’s the sense of being free that has inspired me to add that movement into my work. I hope it resonates with you, and reflects something meaningful for you as well. 🌬️🌿
