- As I was sitting at my desk, daydreaming about painting, I caught a glimpse of my beautifully messy spider plant, spilling its leaves over every which way, and was suddenly inspired to sketch it in all its beautiful madness. That sketch quickly inspired this painting, which turned out to be one of my favorite projects. The angle of the pot and the varied directions of the leaves gives it a multi-dimensional quality.
